Dr. Lisa Frenkel's research focuses on practical questions related to the prevention of HIV-1 infection in infants, mechanisms leading to shedding of virus in adults and treatment of drug-resistant virus in children and adults. She is also interested in the implementation of interventions to prevent mother-to-child-transmission in resource-strapped communities. Her projects include collaborative studies with colleagues in India, Mozambique, Peru, Thailand, the USA and Zimbabwe.
