Jose A. Jeronimo currently acts as the project director for the Screening Technologies to Advance Rapid Testing for Cervical Cancer Prevention—Utility and Program Planning (START-UP) project at PATH in Seattle, WA.  He brings with him a long list of professional honors, specialty training, book and journal publications, as well as extensive teaching and scientific leadership experience. 

 

Jose received his MD in Peru in 1989, but since then has gone onto receive specialty training in gynecologic oncology in the National Cancer Institute in Peru. Most recently, he served as the staff scientist for the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics within the NCI/NIH Human Papillomavirus Unit of the Hormonal and Reproductive Epidemiology Branch for 6 years. He is reviewer in several specialized peer-reviewed journals such as American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease, Journal of the National Cancer Institute and Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is also member of the Committee on Research, Assessment Committee, AD-HOC Subcommittee on Patient Education Committee of the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.
