Dr Getachew Feleke is the Clinical Director at I-TECH Ethiopia. Before accepting this position in October 2007, he was Chief of the Infectious Diseases Division at Nassau University Medical Center, a New York State designated AIDS center in East Meadow, New York. He was the Chairperson of the Infection Control Committee and procured and directed several grants from the New York State AIDS Institute, including the Nicholas Rango HIV Clinical Scholars Training Program (a two-year HIV fellowship), HIV Treatment Adherence Program, and HIV Clinical Education Initiative. He also chaired the annual HIV Symposium. Dr Getachew is a board certified internist and infectious disease specialist and a fellow at the American College of Physicians (ACP) and Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA). He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and the University of Washington, Department of Global Health.
