Dr. Spach is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Washington and the Clinical Director of the Northwest HIV/AIDS Education and Training Center. He has published in numerous medical journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, The Annals of Internal Medicine, Emerging Infectious Diseases, and The Journal of Infectious Diseases. Dr. Spach is the editor-in-chief of HIV Web Study (www.hivwebstudy.org) and has received multiple teaching honors.
Christopher Behrens, MD

Dr. Behrens is the Medical Director of the International Training and Education Center on HIV (I-TECH) and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Washington. In his capacity with I-TECH, he has worked extensively in the Caribbean, and participated in the development and launch of the HIV Care & Treatment Guidelines as well as the PMTCT Training Curriculum for that region. He previously worked for the National HIV/AIDS Clinicians’ Consultation Center at the University of California – San Francisco where he staffed the National HIV Telephone Consultation Service and the National Clinicians’ Post-Exposure Prophylaxis Hotline.
Dr. Behrens obtained a BA in Political Science at Stanford University and his medical degree from the University of California – San Francisco. He is board certified in Family Medicine.
